Frankincense is solidified resin from the secretions of plants of the Burseraceae family. In Ethiopia two genera are found, the Boswellia and the Commiphora.
The collection of the resin takes place between September and June, through the practice of a thin incision on the trunk of the plant, which begins to exude a sort of latex. After about a month the gum resin is hard enough to be collected. Incense is used for both religious and healing purposes. Our resins are pure and untreated, and the scent they give off, once melted, is the result of the volatile elements (torpenes) present, which differ in type and quantity in each type of resin.
OGADEN (Boswellia rivae): Coming from the Ethiopian region of the same name, this gum resin is collected by semi-nomadic populations during their travels, and, thanks to its spontaneous release, the plant does not require any incision. It is used for its balsamic, expectorant and antibacterial properties. FRAGRANCE: SWEET, INTENSE and BALSAMIC.
HOW TO USE IT:
To release its natural scent, the resin must be
re melted over a heat source. We recommend two methods of use:
CHARCOAL: Light a charcoal and deposit a small quantity of resin on it. Intense and smoky effect.
DIFFUSER FOR ESSENTIAL OILS: place an aluminum film on the diffuser plate and turn on the t-light. After a few minutes it will begin to melt and give off its fragrance. Change the film after about an hour by replacing the resin. Soft, non-smoky effect.
